Thanks to the absence of butter in our signature recipes, we're able to create a uniquely light texture—crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Each batch is mixed from scratch in small quantities using our proprietary mixing technique, ensuring perfect consistency, richness, and depth of flavor in every bite. We use significantly less sugar than most bakeries, letting our customers enjoy more flavor without the post-cookie stomach aches or energy crashes. From the amount of chocolate per bite to the internal baking temperature, we’ve spent years perfecting every detail, so you don’t have to!

But we don’t stop at taste. Sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. From using compostable cups, cornstarch utensils, aluminum water bottles, and paper straws in our stores to carefully selecting ethically sourced ingredients, we’re committed to making a difference, one cookie at a time.

How We Started

MidnighTreats was founded by Johnny Nguyen shortly after graduating from James Madison University and aims to change the stereotypes around plant-based and vegan foods. Diana Nguyen fell in love with the mission (and the cookies!) and left a career in early childhood education to join the team.

Diana and Johnny both share a love for animals and our environment which is what fueled years of testing and developing recipes that don’t require any animal ingredients and are delicious. What started in Johnny’s mom’s kitchen is now a multi-location business fighting for a social cause that affects every one of us and our future generations. We believe a successful business can be built alongside creating an environmentally friendly and peaceful world!

Yes, we help with everything from site selection to on site training both before and after your grand opening!

Do I need franchise or restaurant experience to qualify?

No! While restaurant or franchising experience is always helpful it is not required because everything in our business is systemized.

Do I have to pay a royalty?

Yes, we have a 5% royalty in addition to a 2% brand development fund.
